Victor Bell, President of EPI, will be hosting a National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) Sustainability Strategy Group Webinar this week.
The New Plastics Economy Global Commitment and Its Effects on Retailers will be presented on Wednesday, May 15 from 2 to 3 pm EST.
Led by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, the New Plastics Economy Global Commitment has been signed by over 350 organizations – representing one fifth of all plastic packaging produced globally. Hundreds of companies are now promising to ensure that 100% of their plastic packaging will be easily and safely reused, recycled or composted by 2025. This presentation will take a closer look at how the Global Commitment affects NACS members in particular. It will evaluate what the future global packaging landscape is expected to look like and identify challenges associated in reaching stated goals. The presentation will also review reporting requirements, the definition of each New Plastics Economy goal, and how companies are beginning to meet them.
