WEEE Takeback & Reporting Requirements
Under the WEEE directive and related national laws, companies placing electrical and electronic equipment on the EU market have several types of reporting obligations. They must:
- Register with the national producer registry in each market country.
- Make periodic reports on the quantities and types of equipment placed on the market and quantities recovered. In some cases, third-party recovery organizations fulfill this obligation in part or in whole on behalf of their members.
- Report to compliance schemes or recyclers the quantities and types of equipment placed on the market
- Provide product information to the recyclers
Deadlines, registration procedures, and reporting schedules vary by country. Many organizations and registries are currently under development
