Walmart – the world's largest retailer - launched the Sustainable Packaging Scorecard on February 1, 2008 to all Product Suppliers for the United States market. The global Walmart buyers will use the packaging scorecard to rate suppliers on their progress toward developing sustainable packaging, as well as a tool when making purchasing decisions. The Packaging Scorecard has successfully rolled out in several markets internationally, including Canada, China, and Mexico. All suppliers that sell to Walmart or Sam's club in those countries are required to submit data to the Packaging Scorecard. Walmart Packaging Scorecard Training EPI, with over 10 years of experience in global packaging sustainability and product stewardship, has been working with many of Walmart's major suppliers to help them meet the packaging scorecard requirements. Now EPI, in partnership with ECRM (the Walmart Packaging Scorecard software developer), is providing Walmart Packaging Scorecard Training to assist all US and Chinese brand owners and packaging suppliers with their scorecard needs. As the exclusive official training organization, we will be providing regularly scheduled training courses including step-by-step instructions on data entry, scorecard metrics, as well as the packaging modeling software. We will be offering two types of trainings: Web-based Training and On-Demand Training. Each training course will be 2 hours in length, and will be conducted by EPI's Sha Sha, who has successfully assisted several companies in preparing their Scorecard reports and has conducted many global Walmart scorecard trainings in the last few years. The training is aimed at packaging engineers, marketing and design executives, and sales and account executives for all direct Walmart or Sam's Club suppliers, as well as the packaging suppliers that supply Walmart or Sam's Club. In conjunction with the 2011 Walmart 6th Sustainable Packaging Expo, EPI will be offering a classroom training session in Rogers, Arkansas. It is open to registered Expo attendees.
