Battery Design Requirements

The design of batteries and product containing batteries is regulated in several ways. First, certain types of batteries are banned outright. Second, the heavy metals concentration in other battery types is restricted, though the allowable thresholds and exemptions vary by country, battery type, and application. Certain product types require the use of removable batteries. Additionally, labeling requirements and battery fees place disincentives on some battery applications.

EPI's Approach

  • EPI will provide you with information on design requirements based on the product types you sell in each market.
  • EPI can provide guidance on selecting battery types and designs that will comply with worldwide regulations and incur minimal labeling and fee obligations
  • EPI can provide guidance on engineering or purchasing specifications and help you ensure compliance throughout your supply chain.
